I have been sharpening knives and tools since 2012. Along the way, I have learned as much as I possibly can about sharpening. I have sharpened and worked on all sorts of knives (expensive folders, kitchen knives, recurves, tantos, large or small knives, thick outdoors knives, thin slicers) both in my own collection and sharpening jobs for friends and family.

About Me

Sharpening and working on knives is far more than just a job or a way to make some money. I have been interested in knives since my single-digit years. About 9 or so my father gave me a Swiss Army (I’m sure an experience many current knife-people share), and from that moment on my obsession was set. I began carrying a knife everywhere I went, using them for whatever I could. Of course, when you use knives, eventually they need to be sharpened.

I am the type of person who gets INTO things. When I find a hobby or passion, I do it to the fullest extent I can. So naturally just using and collecting knives was not enough; I wanted to learn everything I could about them: taking care of them, modifying, and of course sharpening. That really launched my passion for sharpening. When I discovered what a sharp edge could truly be, I was hooked; nothing could be dull from then on.

I try to take this passion and put it into every knife I work on. I strive for the best edges, clean work, and an honest business. The knife is one of man’s oldest tools, and sharpening is a tradition of equal age. I take great pride in doing work by hand, with traditional tools and techniques. It’s not the fast way, nor the most efficient, but it’s the right way to sharpen. Every edge I produce has a near-decade of practice, learning, and skill behind it. I think this experience shows in my work and passion, and I hope you will appreciate it.

My Approach

I use whetstones ranging from 120-7,000 grit to produce freehand edges that are toothy and aggressive all the way to mirror polished. Or the Edge Pro sharpening system to make super-flat edges with extremely precise angles, in grits from 500 up to a full mirror polish. When I sharpen a knife, I take the utmost care to remove only as much steel as I absolutely have to; my goal is to make a quality edge while preserving the life of the knife.


With my knowledge and experience with knives and sharpening, I can help you determine exactly what kind of edge your tool needs. From a tough, high-angle edge for a hard-use knife, to a low-angle laser beam for precise cutting - I can cater my results to your needs. You can also choose what kind of finish you would like. A lower-grit edge is better for more aggressive cutting in softer materials (like rope, cardboard, or webbing), while a higher polish will be more aesthetic and perform better in harder materials (like wood, dense food, or thick plastic).


I also offer modifications, the most common of which is adding a sharpening choil (a notch at the base of the blade); but I can also do anodizing and projects like reshaping a handle or blade.

My sharpening-related services include fixing broken tips, repairing chips in the edge, or heavy reprofiling of an edge to change the angle. I can also correct issues caused by improper previous sharpenings, such as uneven bevels or recurves.
